    Hello all

I coincidentally found this page as I was surfing the web. Interestingly there weren't many Australian forums for me to look up (mainly American, eg. fish lore) and it's nice to find somewhere closer to home, as I am also Indonesian.

I started out with a 120L tank which I inherited from a family member who failed to raise a pet octopus and thus had an aquarium tank just sitting there for the longest time. We initially were supposed to buy some fishes to entertain my young niece. Little did I know, staring at my tank all day and creating a world for these "fishies" became one of my main hobbies.

I now have a planted community tank with 1 betta, 19 tetras, angelfish, 2 BN plecos and a RTBS. They are all still juvenile, so hopefully I won't have to replace any tetras anytime soon! Apologies for the odd (?) stocking as I made the rookie mistake of listening to the advice given by pet shop workers.

I was looking for some aquascaping ideas when I found this forum, and hope will find answers and contribute to the fish keeping community here.

Any advice on plants that will fill the back wall nicely? I already have some Vallisneria in place but would like a fuller plants to add to the background.

Also as I am also visiting Singapore for 2 weeks in September I would like to know the best stores to visit near my place of stay in Woodlands, or any significant LFS I should definitely visit. Do most stores stock the same items?

Looking forward to talk to you all

Please also excuse the betta in the breeding net, he has some fin damage and am hoping he will recuperate in there

    Hi friend, welcome.
I suggest you visit Seaview Aquarium first. I visit there occasionally too, and they carry all that I need.
But I definitely will also visit others too like Qian Hu, etc at the Pasir Ris and Tengah areas, when I find the opportunity.

Check out Seaview Aquarium here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Se...b1cdf1!6m1!1e1

Welcome to AQ, which part of Australia are you from?

Seaview is good place to visit plenty selection of equipment, plants and fishes/shrimps but I doubt you can bring in flora or fauna into Australia

You can also visit That Aquarium (Y61, BLK 618 Yishun Ave2 near Khatib MRT station which is closer to where you stay.

Hello, I currently reside in Perth, Western Australia (the tanking community is not very big there).

Thank you for your input but I'm mainly looking for Aquascaping ideas/ornaments and maintence tools (so rocks/decor/filters) as, yes you are correct, I can not bring live plants/animals into Australia. I just thought these things might potentially be cheaper in Singapore. However, I am now questioning my logic considering how strong the SGD is at the moment!

If you are keen to check out LFS which are more focused on aquascaping (and also sell aquascaping tools and equipment), then do see if you can find the opportunity to visit these places:

    Green Chapter
    http://www.greenchapter.com

    Fishy Business
    http://www.fishybusiness.com.sg

    Aquatic Avenue
    http://www.aquaticavenue.com.sg

Those are some of the nice places to view actual aquascaped tanks, speak to the staff and maybe get some inspiration for your own tanks too.
