Haha nice to see you here. Gone are the salty days to me as well. The planted scene has grown so much since I started planted back in 1999.
After six long years on the salted side, finally ventured into fresh water.
As a kid I love keeping fish like tetra, guppies and goldfish. Occasionally I'll buy some fern but after few days the poor fellow just withers off.
Fast forward to today, due to work commitment and requirement to travel overseas my marine tank with coral doesn't get the required attention and hence dying. So instead of totally give up the hobby, I decided to change to planted tank due to more flexibility for me to travel and not coming back home greeted with dead stuff.
Through Internet I learnt about requirement of keeping a high end planted tank so I started planning and finally gotten all required stuff today to start my new baby.
Before are specification of my current equipment and substrate:
ADA 90P
Eheim ecco pro 300
ANS co2 solenoid running at 2 bubble power second
Odyssey evo LED 36
ADA power sand m
ADA Amazonian
Finally to end up my new journey, below is picture of my scape. Something I learnt is planting plants in substrate is tiring lol.

Looking forward to seeing the progress of your planted tank! Take lots of photos![]()
nice attempt to set up there!
I feel that for the rocks, if you pile them up near the tree and and create a cliff effect or shift the tree to the rock side, then the scape will look great!
the other side just plant some foreground plants to let them cover up the empty space.
Actually I did thought of that before bro to pile up rock around the tree side. Also kinda regret using lava rock because of the reddish coloration which will not make my red plants pop out so much.
