U'd need to change the ballast...but i'm not sure if u'd need to change the ballast in ur case, coz most ballast can take more wattage than the standard tube dat it comes wif.

    Leann,
Why do you want to change the light from 9W to 13W. The diffrence is quite negligable.

To know whether you need to change the ballast, you can try looking at the ballast rating. Some ballast can supportbetween a certain range. You can try juz pluging in and see whether in lights up. The worst thing would happen is only it would not start. So no danger there.

hehe this might be silly but i brought a 13W PL tube by mistake when i go ard look for 9W PL of the same tube dun have and this tube in my opinion is very good for planted tank..

so i have to convert my table lamp that can only support up to 9W to use the 13W []

my spec. for the lamp is 9WPL 50Hz 220~240V...
