The coconut outer shell has lots of fibres that would disintegrate, just a normal phenomena. It's not harmful to fish
Yesterday I bought two new plants for my tank. Both are ferns. Small one is tied to a drift wood and bigger one is tied to coconut shell. When i put the bigger one into my 2ft clear bottom tank, I notice that many light brown substance settled on the bottom. I vaccumed the bottom but after few hours, the bottom is filled with the substance.
Does anyone face the same situation? Is it harmful to the fishes?

Understood. I remove the plant from the coconut and tied onto my driftwood. Now my tank is bare bottom after removing the black sand so kind of unpleasant with the disintegration.
