    Hi guys,

I chanced upon micro crabs at one of the LFS and I am wondering if they would be safe in a fully planted tank with Apisto Inka.
It's a densely planted 3 feet tank and I think they would look really cool in my tank (if I can find them after putting them in).

Here's the list of Fauna in my tank.

    Fire Red Shrimp
    Apisto Inka
    Apisto Borellii
    Apisto Caca Triple Red Juveniles
    Boraras Brigittae
    Swaba Resplendens
    Chocolate Gourami
    Cleanup Crew (Amano Shrimps, Oto)
    Assassin Snails
    Threadfin Rainbow
    Galaxy Rasbora
    Red Neon Paskai
    Pygmy Corys

    Thanks in advance.

Even if the micro crabs manage to successfully hide from the apistos (which will definitely eat them if they are spotted)... with that amount of plant density in your tank, the micro crabs will disappear forever into the plants. So once you introduce them into the tank, they are as good as invisible, if not already hunted and eaten up.

It will be better to just start another small tank just for the micro crabs (a 10 liter nano tank is more than sufficient to keep a group of them, they have incredibly low bio-loads), or put them into a breeder box or hang-on satellite box, so that you can at least get to observe them from time to time.

You can check out my thread on them (and their eventual shift to their own small tank): http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...-Micro-Crab%29
