Any place to sell off my platies fry?

I am doing private home mass breeding of platies but I am worrying about population explosion and I certainly don't want to see my fry being used as feeder fish.

Any place where I can lelong them off?

You could sell them at the forum marketplace or maybe speak to a few LFS and see which are willing to buy from you.

Most places prefer to buy and sell adult sized fishes though (and usually only the better quality ones), rather than just baby fry or lower grade ones (which will usually end up as feeders), so you'll have to spend some time and effort to grow them out before sale.

I came across this thread just recently. I have platys that immediately birthed and the fry eaten by the parents and especially some native shiners I had. After putting a female in a 2.5 gallon tank did I have many long term survivors. I have advertised the fry in local on line adds and have had no takers. So now I dole them out to my 2 display tanks and let them grow. None are full grown now, I suppose I'd some takers then. I do not want them gone for feeder fish. My local fish shops I don't care for so I have not asked them. Tough to find a home for babies.

Selling ordinary platies is a bit difficult as they are a dime a dozen. One can get a bagfull for 2-3 dollars at any lfs.

Of course will be different if it is a special breed such as bumble bee plague or blue wagtails, as these are hard to get.

if you cannot find someone to take them in, why are you doing mass breeding and trying to get rid of them?

I finally ended up stunting some sadly, and they live out their lives in my QT. I managed to give away the others. Also found a new home for the shiners as well, now they only have to dodge the adults.
