Hi guys! I was wondering if you people could help me out in my building of a sump! I have a 180 litre aquarium but I have the following problems:
    1) I don't know what aquarium silicone is safe for my fishes- I know some hardware stores sell silicone for window and door but it is highly controversial wether or not it is actually "Safe" for fishes. Aquarium-Safe sealant would be the best option however do local fish shops sell it?
    2) I don't know where to buy glass strips for my sump chambers. I researched that some shops dealing with windows might sell but then is there a way to custom make them or can I use another material instead?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

Consider getting a custom built sump made. 8mm glass. About 2.5ft would cost around $120 region. Atlantic Glass @ Serangoon area.

They do cut glass to size for your DIY but I'm sure it won't be cheap taking that route.

Selly's clear silicon available from most hardware shop is fish safe

Thanks a lot for all your comments! I currently discarded the whole sump idea and going to buy a HOB instead.

If going for HOB filter, it's better to look for the biggest you can find. Usually big ones come with twin chambers for media. Then you can also use the whole space for your favourite media.

Thanks for all your constructive feedback. I'm currently using a Boyu HOB and I've ditched the sump idea for the moment.
    Cheers everybody!
