Hi all bro. I have come back to the planted discus tank again after a busy time. Here is my new setup with sandy substrate. To boost the plants growing, I used the Root tab Grower that I bought from c328. After setting up for 1-2 weeks, I got the brown algae attacking, but with increasing light and dosing Excel, now the brown algae has disappeared.
My tank is 4x1.5x1.5 ft and I am using Eheim 2217 with Biohome plus and Eheim 2071 with Eheim substrate as filter. Light is T5 HO 4x54W and is on for 8 hour per day. Discus are fed on tetrabits and beefheart daily. To clean the excess food, a crowd team of cories with do the job. I also keeping two pcs of Ghost Knight fish which like to eat beefheart a lot. They even go to eat food from my hand, which I was surprised because they were know as shy fish. And here is my tank:
Very nice discus...
