here's my current layout and planning.
i found similar post on wave maker and dead spot, but the tank size is different. Not sure if you guys have other recommendation?

Hi guys, found that my flow to small after hook up with co2 reactor. Eheim 2424, rainbar, tank volume 130liters. Thinking to add a smallest wave maker to improve flow, 2000l/h, point across the 2ft tank. Any advice or comments?
I even remove a drift wood from my tank after setup due to dead spots.
p/s: waiting for good deal to upgrade to higher flow rate like 2217.

If wavemaker flow is too much, you can opt for small pump that has low flow rate like 300l/hr type for an example. Key thing is to generate flow.
Yup, previously I use 360l/h in a 23 liters tank, 15x flow rate. I'm choosing wave maker due to it's small size compare to power head. Never use one before, just afraid that it's too intense and focus at one point....

The wave maker is too strong go for a power head instead.
or maybe eheim skim350, could add more flow as well as skim your surface, o2 richer.350l/hr
There are pump which is much smaller in size than a wavemaker. One example below:

Tried a wavemaker, one with the lowest flow rate that I can find, still it is too strong for my 2ft tank. End up using small pump instead, well hidden too.
oh ya...there are small size pump like bro Jimmy stated. I keep thinking about the big pump that come with inflow stem.thanks for everyone's reply.
then i should change my question. What is the flow rate i should go with, and how should i position the power head?
Yup, the wavemaker is meant to mimic real waves in the ocean so using it will cause your fish to be tossed about as if they are in a washing machine! Why don't you opt for a small powerhead like the one I'm using in my tank? After one if the two Eheim 2213 broke down in my tank, I have been relying on my Boyu powerhead to make up for the decreased Flowrate. I even added a little DIY surface skimmer on top the powerhead for surface skimming. Why don't you try that instead?

Yup, thanks for your reply. Now I'm looking at powerhead instead of wavemaker. What is the flow rate you using? How you position the power head? opposite of the canister outflow? Mind to share how you DIY the surface skimmer?
Ok Gimhchng, please give me some time to d9 the surface skimmer as I'm a little busy at the moment.

Sure. I bought a powerhead but haven't setup yet. Thanks

Hi Gimhchng! I used a Boyu Powerhead SP1000 and I purchased it from Fresh N Marine. The flowrate is 300lph and it works well for my aquarium.

There are controllable wavemaker like the ones from Jebao.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
Thanks bro. I got a power head instead. For the benefits of others, another recommendation I got is to use this 600L/h wave maker. Personally think that it looks better in tank.
