    Hi all,

this is not a advice seeking thread.
as per subject titled, I am very curious and wonder why fish/water snail eat terrestrial food such as cucumber, zucchini and lettuce etc?
In the wild, i doubt these vegetables or fruit trees grow near the river bank, as such dropping into the water for them to eat. What's the reason? I had googled but found nothing

    does anyone knows why?

Same reason why fishes and snails eat commercial pellet/wafer food... those are full of non-aquatic ingredients, fillings and artificial preservatives, and they also don't drop into ponds or rivers too.

As long as its edible, most omnivorous fishes and snails will readily consume a variety of prepared and natural foods, just depends on which they find more tasty.
