I thought of buying too. But my setup is not bare bottom. So i forget about beef heart as it can be quite messy.
For me, i just feed my discus with frozen bloodworm.

LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
ok just threw a piece of beef heart into my tank of 4 3" discus, to my surprise all dashed to the meat and disappeared it within seconds I don't see any mess!!!
I just brought in the new discus into my newly setup tank few days back and they don't really touch the food pellets, this is my first try to feed them beef heart! They really fierce hungry on it.
Yes, you have the right technique. A lot of hobbyists simply chuck a lot of food into the tank.
Care must also be taken to ensure the food is properly swallowed before adding in more food, otherwise the fish will spit out the earlier food and gobble the newly added food, causing a lot of dirty mess. Fish are 'chao kuan' in this regard.

Noob question, why beef heart?
Ya not just beef heart, usually they will mix some ingredients with it. But i find it quite troublesome. I just fed them with dry pellet and frozen bloodworm.
I see, currently feeding mainly pellets and occasionally frozen bloodworm to my macrostoma pair, thinking of trying beef heart cube with Astaxanthin or Frozen krill for variety.
