    Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy a new 2ft 60x30x30 (or even 3ft 90x45x45) glass aquarium to replace my old one. What are good places to get a durable tank of this size?
I do know of Nanyang Seaview at Seletar East, but are there any other places you can suggest?

In addition, my current tank is placed on a metal stand, which exerts force unevenly (which may be the reason why the tank is leaking slightly through the bottom). Therefore, I am thinking of buying a cabinet to go with the tank possibly.

Thank you for your suggestions and help!

Hi, did you use a piece of white polystyrene foam under the tank?

No matter what stand or cabinet you use, you must have that, otherwise there will be uneven pressure exerted on the tank base. This applies even to wooden tank cabinets, although it is not as critical. If the pressure point is pronounced, it may even cause the glass base to crack in use.

It normally comes with a new tank when purchased, but some hobbyists throw it away thinking that it is just part of the packaging, though some shops will teach the buyer about it.

Seaview is a good place to get 2ft and 3ft tanks, they have a wide selection of tanks in stock to choose from.

As for custom tank cabinets, you can check with cabinet makers like CR Aquarium or N30, just email them your cabinet dimensions and color requirements and they will give you a quotation on it.

Hi, we did not place polystyrene under the tank, and that it almost surely why it has begun to leak. When setting up the new tank we plan to place a piece of plywood and possibly an additional layer of polystyrene under the tank to better support it.

Thank you for the information, though at the moment I think my family has decided to keep the metal stand.

An alternative to white polystyrene is using aquarium tank black foam base mat, it is made of dense foam and works similarly, looks nicer and will not flake off in bits too.

Looks like this (you can buy it at most good LFS):

For tanks on metal stands, try to get the thicker base foam mats for more support and stability.
