Eriocaulon quingquangulare (Red) / Eriocaulon sp (Vomit Blood)

Hi all, finally got these two species from Green Chapter and Aquatic Avenue.

I'm keeping them in a high-light (DIY 20W 6500K LED), high C02 environment in my unused Dymax IQ5. I read they require soft water and lots of light.

Bottom sand is ADA aqua soil, sprinkled with osmocote pellets, top layer is inert sand. Also insert ADA Iron near plant.

Will update from time to time. I consider this my new pet project. I also added another Erio sp Vomit Blood in my chilled main tank as control as this nano tank is subjected to S'pore ambient temp.

My only other experience is keeping Erio sp Vietnam in my main tank. Hope they grow well.

The Eriocaulon quingquangulare (Red) is a beautiful Erio to have but it need strong light, if not it will slowly lost it redness and die off.

If you not sure if your tank light is high enough? You can put Phyllanthus fluitans aka red floater in to test if it will be red or green. if red mean you have good lighting.
Then you can try Eriocaulon quingquangulare (Red).

Thanks for the advice.

I'm very sure the lights are strong. My led consists of power leds in 4x5 array. Not the strip leds. 1 led emitter outputs 1w and attached with lens each to focus light beam at 45deg angle.

Have used this to grow HC in my main tank at 65cm depth.

This nano tank from water surface to substrate is less than 10cm. I worry of too much light instead.

Thanks for advice anyway, hope to receive more advice.
