Hi guys
Here's my first planted tank, a 2ft x 1ft x 1ft tank (65L = 17gal).
Planning to stock shrimps in it once it is cycled. It is going to be a low-tech tank with only Seachem Flourish, Seachem Prime and Seachem Excel used.
The lighting is my own DIY creation, having both white and blue leds, and controlled by a USA Current 2-channel ramp timer. Currently it's set to full white intensity in the evening for 10 hours before fading off to a gentle blue glow for the rest of the night and the morning.
I tried Monte Carlo for the foreground but it just would not even stay rooted well in the substrate so I removed it all and planted hairgrass for foreground, with Bacopa caroliniana for the midground and the top of the ridges and for the background, I have Cabomba caroliniana and Eleocharis sp.
Hopefully the hair grass will spread enough to make the foreground fuller for shrimps to feel comfortable in. I designed the hardscape with a valley and a path in the middle and the right side has a slope that leads to a flat portion with some Bacopa Caroliniana planted there. The left side features some of this plant on the top of the rocks.
The substrate used is ADA Amazonia.

Nice but the white river may soon be cover by the black soil![]()
Btw, what led is that ? looked powerful and programmable !

I soldered up an entire array of LEDs, a mixture of blues and whites, and hooked them up to a USA Current programmable LED Lamp Ramp Timer. It automatically ramps up and down the blue and white leds at the timings that I set. Pretty nifty..
Nice LED set. Wished I had the know-how to do so. BTW, your white sandy path will not remain that way. One way to ensure they do not mix is to have small/medium stones to demarcate the path.

90 x 50 x 50 cm tank: Eheim 2217; ANS CO2 Solenoid with 60mm intense bazooka; Zetlight 6400; Teco 500 Chiller; Borneo Wild Steel inlet/outlet
Ferts: Dry Mixture/Dr Mallicks. Temp: 26 degrees Substrate: ADA Amazonia
Is that normal hair grass or mini? Mini hair grass is very easy to grow. With proper Co2, right temperature, trimming, it will be grow super dense.
I'm not sure if it's normal or mini, but I reckon it's normal. It's about 3-5cm tall. Bought it from seaview at $1.50 per packet.
