I suggest you get those in crystal form. those are just sodium thiosulfate. and doesn't have any other funny stuff inside it. I've also heard that those with herbal extracts etc can introduce algae
Just a little alert for the novice planted tank keepers. Choose your anti-chlorine and/or water conditioners carefully. Read the labels and make sure that they do not bind heavy metals. It will bind iron and deprive your plants of it.
Just my $0.02.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

This is quite controversial. I think most conditioners contains chelators to bind metals. In the liquid plant nutrients, most metals are in form of chelates. Therefore, IMO it does not make a difference.

the topic here is antichlorine
strictly speaking, you only need sodium thiosulphate to remove hypochlorous (OCL-) which is what kills fish
the problem arises when maufacturers play on psychological factors
"the more it does, the better"
many of us are very kiasu when it comes to our tanks
*shrug*
however, do take note some water conditioners do remove chloramine as well, and as such are worthy of mention
read somewhere that best anti-chlorine is to leave the water aerated overnight.. what are your views on this?[]

yes
but it doesn't remove chloramines
rumours have it that PUB adds it to our water
haven't seen any evidence (i do changes straight from the tap) to show otherwise
yeah.. me too.. to both my FW and SW tank.. []

i dont use anti-chlorine at all
but i am waiting for verification of chloramine in tap water
if they have, i will need to get those with anti-chloramine properties
I hate to add chemicals to my tanks
i change my water strg from the tap to the tank i don't add anything else to it.
Cheers!

me too do water change straight from the tap..... cos too lazy. So far so good. At themomment I only add baking soda during WC, nothing else (even ferterlizer).
I don't know if this is scientifically sound.
choloramine = chlorine - ammonia
sodium thiosulphate does break up choloramine leaving behind ammonia
using a test kit should detect that ammonia.

my last test on tap water, result was negative for ammonia
Vinc did mention that some conditioner binds Fe and deprive the plant of it. I am quite skeptical about it.
However, being kiasu, I am considering to switch to Seachem Safe which is said to remove chlorine, chloramines and amonia, after I finish my current bottle of water conditioner.
