I have a Hailea HC-300A you want? Been sitting in my storeroom for a while now. In working condition when i decom my tank. FOC n self collect
Hi All,
I have a question here. Is it normal for a Hailea HS28A chiller with 1/10 HP to cool down a 60cmx28cmx20cm (2ft)tank from 26c to 25c using about 35mins to 40mins on an average temp day? I'm having an external temperature probe installed and my canister has a flow rate of about 700L/H.
My placement of the chiller is at a space where air ventilation is quite good. Chiller kick-out time is about 50mins to 1 hour.
Thanks ALL!

i am using a HS-28A and the tank is 60x40x45, from 26 to 25, it takes me about 5-10mins max. My my chiller is 2 mths old with internal probe.
My mod is, I have an external thermostats power plug installed separately. When my chiller exhaust raise above 35C, the thermostat which is place at the chiller exhaust will kick in and it automatically Switch on a cooling fan to blow/suck away the hot air. It reduce my cool down time significantly and my electric bills too. Like wise when the temperate drops, it switch off by itself.
Wah LayKiat! FOC! I'm very much hooked. Wouldn't mind taking it off your hands.

Hi there Steven! I'm using a Hailea 150A Chiller too for my 3 feet tank and it is able to chill the aquarium down from 35 Degrees Celcius to about 26 Degrees Celcius in about 1.5-2 hours. The kickstart time is then 30 minutes before temperature goes over 27 and the chiller goes back on again.
Does this make sense: ~Imperfect Past equals future tense~
So I guess it's kind of normal in your case because I don't turn on the air conditioning unit where I put my fish tank. However, you do know that Chiller's are not really needed unless you want to get rid of algae or keep some cold-loving shrimp.

I have 2 tanks running similar co2 and fertilzer routines, the differents is one is with chiller at 25-26c and another is 28-29c with fan.
christmas moss and weeping moss grows in both tank but, they grew differently.
The moss in the chiller tank grew slower, but they are nice and compact, very dense and "FAT"
The moss in the non chill tank grew a lot faster, they they are not as dense.
The same is for mini fussiden.
Chiller does matter if you are really into the hobby.
