Hi guys my friend just pass over his gh and kh test kit for me.
I followed the instruction
I manage to get my kh reading @ 3dkh/53.7 ppm kh
But as for the gh reading. I follow the instruction and my solution did not change any colour. The instruction say the gh will turn orange to green. But after 20 drops the solution became dark orange....no green colour visible from the first drop

Definitely something wrong, either your tank water gh is real too high or your test kit is not accurate. Does your tank has any livestock and live happily for long time? If so, then the problem maybe on your gh test kit. Have you tested your gh test kit on your tap water? If tap water still result the same reading, then you should change your gh test kit.

My livestock are happy and healthy so faryeah I think I should try on tap water again or get a new gh test kit .... By the way is 3dkh / 53.7 ppm kh good for planted tank ? Any adjustment needed ?

Mine also had this problem. Nvr see orange for GH and KH also nvr see blue. My GH was 21 drop then saw color slight greenish. API kit right?

Did you cap and shake the test tube after every drop of the test reagent?

I have tried testing my tap water... 30 drops ... Nothing change .. The solution became dark orange ......

Seems like your GH test kit is faulty, probably have to get another one or a different brand and try again.
