one of my cardinal is hving a bulging white spot at the junction of the tail and body. There also a few cases before but non-fatal.
What is this and how to cure or prevent it? Is it life-threatening?
    thanks.

it is always at the same location, ie junction of body and tail fins. It is protruding out of body and slightly pointed. Is it a common vulnerability of the cardinal?

thank you very much, Simon. Will try to search thru for clues.
Just discovered that other fin-body junctions over the fish have also got this white tumor like things.
Don't seems to be contagious so far. Will try to take some pics to post here so as to share with others.

i have similar symptoms on the 'tail junction' of a couple of neons... my suspicion is they have been bitten by a very aggresive flying fox... i have not been able to remove the fellow but i have lost 3 neons (i suspect killed and eaten by the flying fox as i can't find the carcasses and i have two more with the symptom...) it never occured to me it could be some kind of disease since i could not find any information on this particular symptom...
