Hi all,

I've been going through the AQ forums for some time and learned a lot from the posts here.
Not much experience before, just have a small nano tank with some plants, fish and shrimps previously.

Just set up a 2 ft tank 2 weeks ago and it's still cycling.

Attached is a low resolution photograph of the tank when it was just set up and one few days ago.

Feels great to be joining AQ!

This is my first attempt at doing some kind of scape. First time using CO2 and also ADA aquasoil.

This is the most recent shot of my tank.

Welcome any suggestions to improve.

These are my tank specs:

Tank
GUSH Crystal Garden 60x36x30

Filter
Totto Perfect Filter Type S

Light / photo period
VG ZY601 36W
Lights on from 2pm to 9pm

CO2
Pressurized CO2 with solenoid regulator & glass diffuser
On half an hour before lights on and off one hour before lights off

Substrate
ADA Amazonia aquasoil

Chiller / fan
Ista cooling fan

Fertilizer
I follow Seachem's recommended liquid fertilizer dosage except for the Nitrogen. Figured that the nitrogen will come from the aquasoil, fishes and fish food

Fauna
Microdevario kubotai
Hyphessobrycon amandae (ember tetra)
Clithon corona (horned nerite snail)
And some hitch-hiking pond snails
Still thinking of what other fishes or shrimps to stock

Flora
Micrathemum 'Monte Carlo'
Staurogyne repens

Echinodorus 'Rose'

Can anyone help to identify these red plants?

VG ZY601 lamp on 60x36x30 aquarium? Is it medium light or high light?

Thank you. I guess it's considered medium to high light.

This is my most recent photograph of the tank. About 4 months old. Did some moving around due to itchy fingers. Some plants doing well, some disasters, some casualties, fair bit of frustration but thoroughly enjoyable hobby. Haha.

This thing just makes you want to keep meddling and spending money.

Like gardening, the aquascaping hobby is a full-time undertaking requiring much commitment and dedication. If successful, the result is pure joy.

Nice tank. Got to say though, lighting may prove insufficient over time as your plants grow. Consider getting an extra light in the future.

Hi happydanio, thanks for the advice. Am on 36w led now. How many watts should I get?

Was googling zetlight but that will really burn a hole in my pocket.
