You can check at Fishy Business, they have a retail stand with wabi kusa plants available for purchase... here is a recent photo from their Facebook page:

You could try making your own by simply wrapping aquasoil in a fine pore mesh net bag, then poke individual plantlets into it, thats the simplest method and you can create them in specific sizes you require.

For your intended scape setup, you could also just put aquasoil in a shallow transparent cup or container and grow plants in it, then hide the container with surrounding rocks.

Got it, i watched a couple videos on youtube, Im not sure what is the Red Plant in the picture called... any idea?

I have existing Shrimp Soil from Borneowild... is it fine to use them to make the substrate ball?

The stem plant with red leaves could be a ludwigia rubin or similar variant (maybe plant ID experts can chip in their views).

The shrimp soil should be usable, though you may need to add some fertilizers or perhaps put a root tablet/stick inside the soil ball to enhance its nutrient content.

The popular stem plants for wabi kusa are species like rotala, ammania, ludwigia, alternanthera etc, and also the carpet plants like HC, glosso, MC too. The majority of aquarium plants can be used as they have emersed forms.

Actually most plants sold at LFS are in emersed form (thats how they are grown and mass produced at the plant farms anyways).

Just look for those plants which are sold in plastic cups/containers or packets and not submerged in water ... those are all in emersed form.

Check at the more popular LFS like C328 or Seaview, they sell most of the plants in emersed form.
