Why are the fins of my Betta tearing apart??? His fins used to be very full and nice but all of a sudden I noticed the fins seems to have holes and are tearing???
Usually when betta fins tear its either they torn them on some sharp objects (or sometimes even due to filter outputs/intakes)... or they may be ill or stressed and the fins deteriorate and tear as a side effect.
Maybe check your tank's parameters, like ammonia, nitrites and nitrates, see if those are still at okay levels.
Most of the time if the betta is healthy and the water conditions are good, their fins will usually naturally heal back on their own.
Get the Suma gill and tails! or quarantine your betta with ketapang water!
How is the filter current in the tank? Some times if the betta feels like he can't swim properly he might bite its own tail, some times they bite their tails for no discernible reason either. Just keep the water clean and it should grow back in time!
