Do you know what flow rate you need? You should choose your pump by the flow rate you need. Take a look at Sicce's Syncra Silent and Easyline series and Eheim's Compact series

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
I'm looking for those out of water type, flow rate should be minimum for a 2ft tank, ES150 flowrate should be sufficent. It's not so much for flow, I'm running a ehiem 2215. This external pump is more for the purpose of buffering water, most people use air pump connected to a UGF, I wanted to reduce the noise factor of running an air pump through the UGF. The ehiem series are huge in size.
get a high blow baby if noise is a factor... very silent pump that you don't even noticed that you have switch it on...
Hiblow is an airpump right?

yes..
highblow is an airpump. I am just suggesting an alternative for Ingen since he only want to connect the external pump to a UGF which I thik an airpump is better investment as he can branch out for other tanks in future.. compared to an external pump which run the risk of connection problem and flood the house..
attached is a photo of the highblow baby

I have one, using it for the aged water tank, it's silent until the bubbles coming out of the UGF haha.
oh I see..
have to stick to pump then...
Sorry Fireblade, no offence meant. Just wanted to clarify so Ingen knows his options.

not offended thanks for clarifying vinz!
Both of you have been very helpful! Thanks for sharing
I made a mistake. The Eheim compact is for in-tank only. Not external. The sicce syncra nano might fit your needs: http://www.sicce.com/prodottiLista_e...tipo=4/idcat=1

Any idea if the sicce syncra nano is quiet in a bedroom context?
