    Hi all seniors here,

i Started my 1st desktop tank bout a month ago with some water plants as indicated in the 1st pic but things did not turn out well as the water turns cloudy fast and often. Eventually I remove the plants within 3 weeks as they were dying off bit by bit. I also have attach my current tank setup. It looks plain but at least the water is clear. Below are the specs of my tank. Would appreciate if any seniors here can offer some advice on how to create a Better looking tank.

    Brand:Qubic 2 lifestyle aquarium(from Qian Hu)
    Tank Dimension: 261(L) x 261(W) x 318(H)mm, Approx 17L
Tank Material: High quality, high clarity silica glass
Filtration: under gravel plate with mini pump head (3watt)
    Lighting: 48pcs RGB (10watt)
7 individual color spectrum/ automatic color changing mood light (selectable)

Currently i have 3xshrimps n 4xleopard Cory and 4xtetra ( fish shop uncle saw same family as neon tetra) n 6x orange fish which I duno the name. Is it advisable to have fish n shrimps together?

i was thinking of getting some moss for the shrimps but worry will cloud water again. Any seniors can advise what can I add on to my tank to make it look nicer and also what fish or shrimps to add in.

thank you very much in advance.

    Regards,
    Ecolite

Fish and shrimp usually don't do well together. Since they are already there, perhaps buy a few choice pieces of bogwood and some simple plants like Java ferns (you'd find these in any LFS attached onto small pieces of driftwood). These are hardy and don't require much to keep alive.

    Hi Vannel,

for java ferns does it need anything in particular to do well in my tank? I was thinking getting some moss for the shrimps.

To be blunt, the shrimps probably won't last very long without alot of plants to hide in. Fish are generally opportunistic feeders and will try to nibble on the shrimp..
