    Hi Guys,

Great to see the old timers still around and the forum going through a revamp. Nothing to do so took a few pictures of my tank .
Waiting for the plants to grow denser.

is that a new MH light?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Yup..choy. You remembered my old Mh setup . Just replaced them 3 months ago when my bulbs was due for changing. DE bulbs are cheaper than SE bulbs, hence the change and I need to replace 3 bulbs only instead on 4. This new light looks better too.

    Thanks Fei Miao.

Simon, I have a hard time redoing the whole tank. Had to remove most of the gravel to replace the base fertilizer. So messy. I was thinking whether to go back to stem plants since the new lights are so bright, but the maintenance....

Any suggestions to the types of plants for the background so that I can make full use of the lighting?

    Welcome back Vincent.

Looks like the MH lights causing algae growth on your Anubias already. I am using Blyxa aubertii as my background plant to form a shade over my Anubias.

    Hi Koah Fong,

How is your jungle tank? Didnt update your website with new pictures?

You are right about the spot algae on the nanas leaves. In fact, most of the plants have spot algae on its leaves. This setup was done before I got the new lights. Wanted something low maintenance. Sometimes, it is difficult to choose the plants to cater to the lighting conditions. Low lights=nanas ok, APP grows upwards. High light=APP crawl, but plenty of spot algae.

Should I change the whole setup to high lights plants, especially those red plants. Will look very nice, but imagine the maintenance .
