I am considering getting Congo Tetras. So trying to gather some info on this fish:
    - What minimun number would make a nice school of them (in 5ft tank)?
    - I read they may eat plants? Any idea?
    - Are they shy or voracious when feeding? I read different views on the internet.
    - Do they nip the long fins of other fish? Or make a meal of the smaller fish like Neon Tetras or Yamatos?
    - Do they fight among themselves?

    Thanks.

I have 3 Congo Tetras in my tank. They have been eating fine and living healthily for 6 months. Recently, they have not been eating. I tried feeding them frozen bloodworms, pellets, they just refuse to eat. Well they used to eat everything before I went for my reservist 1 month ago.

This morning, the inevitable happened. One died in my tank. The other 2 is still alive, but always near the water surface. My other fish, SAE, Neon Tetras, Corydoras, Shrimps are behaving normal.

Anyone knows the probable reason to their hunger strike? Appreciate any kind advice please.

No disease, no growth. They look perfectly fine just that I don't see them feeding.

They don't even look under-nourished after weeks of non-feeding!

But one has died this morning. Think tonight go home more will follow the path to heaven

nope.....looks normal....no spots, no protruding scales, no any abnormal thing whatsoever....

could they be dying of old age? hmm...
