If I have to take a stab at it, I would say it is Taiwan Moss.
I took a closer look today and as you said, it should be Taiwan Moss. Thanks and much appreciate.
For Taiwan moss, without CO2 is okay to grow well ? as I plan to grow as base for 1ft x 1ft?

It's ok to grow taiwan moss or any kind of moss without co2. What's important is the temp must be low.Originally Posted by Star-flog

If I on only 1 tube (9watt), can maintance the temp around ~ 26C. If I on two tubes (18 watt), the temp will go up to ~ 28C. If the temp is more importance to grow moss, then no light or little light should use so that the water will be much cooler?

Moss can survive with little or no light as long as temp is low but I think there won't be much growth.Originally Posted by Star-flog
I will suggest you install a fan if you want to on 2 tubes of lighting.
By using fan, can only lower the temp by about 2C or more for a 1ft cube tank? right?Originally Posted by e-mini
Which means for moss to grow fast, the tank needs low temp, right lighting and not necessary with CO2. I just envy a nice beautiful moss as base for my shrink tank. Thanks.

hi,
i have a two feet using profantec fan (the big one) lighting is 30watts of Fluro.
if my thermometer is correct, i can get 25.2 degrees the lowest. i do not think it should be a problem for you to hit that temperature. By the way, my normal water temperature is 28 degrees plus a bit.

Hi!
I have grown some Taiwan moss without CO2 and using only sunlight. They still grow but IMO, they will look nicer under good lighting and CO2, as evidence by the ones kept inside my CO2 tank.
Cheers!
yes yes, my friend has a whole bush of Taiwan in this tank. However, for the Taiwan moss below where light cannot pass through well, I observed that they are stringy and not developed. For best conditions, CO2, good light and clean and cool water are important. Moss are not known to like too much fert. A bit will do just nice for faster growth.Originally Posted by kadios
