Hi guys, so i just bought this 2ft tank recently. After surveying all the fishes at the aquarium what got me was the Silver arowana as it is quite cheap and beautiful. But i know my tank is quite small for it. The arowana is just a baby which is just about 10cm long. Would it be enough for my 2ft tank to hold the baby arowana?I know its gonna get big so i will upgrade my tank later but for now is it big enough to hold the baby?.and lastly how fast does this fish grow.

If it's the same silver arowana that they have in River Safari, they grow huge, so best not to keep them in 2ft, I reckon 6ft would be too small for them too... Just like those aligator gar I saw at river safari, I can't imagine them being kept in a 6ft tank.

2 ft is enough for that size. Just upsize your tank accordingly as the fish grows.
Depends on your definition of "fast", mine grew less than 5cm over 2 months.

    Re: Beginner in keeping Arowana

I have kept 2 asian arowanas. When young, their growth rate is pretty fast. At 4 months old, they would be roughly 6 to 8 inches long. By 6 months, probably 8 to 10 inches. By 2 years, about 14 to 18 inches long.

From 18 inches onwards, they grow much slower, so I would recommend upgrading to at least a 5 foot tank, by the time your fish reaches 8 inches long... which is only in about 3 to 5 months.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
