    leave the moss in the Q tank and introduce a dwarf puffer for 2 to 3 days.
    it should do the job. did the trick for me.

    snail!

    i think you shouldn't remove it or even u remove it successfully the snail might suddenly appear cos their egg are hard to locate.

    At first my tank got snail and I so worry, spend a lot of time remove it one by one everyday...

    But after that I leave it to spread and notice it didn't harm my plants at all, now my tank easyily can see more than 20 snails around ... some grow bigger.

    I study the book from Diana Wxx and it mentioned that snail help to clear dead plants, algea on the grass and micro on the leaf surface too .... but no sure what type of snail u have

    I have to same problem and they do multiply itself very fast. How about Apple snail (a lot bigger), would it eat the plants too?

    hi,

    puffer is the most economical and efficient way of removing snail, and it provides the best entertainment value, especially when he zoom in and finish up the snail like an escargot; Just can't help but give my puffer a toast with a glass of red wine

    However - a word of caution; Always buy the smaller puffer, and restrict to one fish in one tank, be'cos very soon all the snails will be swallowed and the puffer will die of hunger;

    happen to me twice already, pretty sad to see his sulken face and finally he disappear when this happen, some of my yamato and malayan will subsequently dies - think it is due to food poisioning from the puffer feast , LAU SIA till death!

    3 cheers for them;

    OK, so puffer fish meant to 'clean' the snail problem! after that it has no use, it will 'automatically' die of hunger? what the unfair world..

    Star, after which you can feed it frozen bloodworm. or what we suggested in the past. you can do a "Rent a Puffer" scheme

    That also a good way to pass along the puffer fish. But for $1 a piece, it will be kind of inconvenience..

    So my conclusion is, we should not use this fish if the intention is not to keep them

    I never try feeding the puffer with frozen worm, for fear of contaminating my main tank;

    however, i never successfully catch it either, he is so shy and elusive;

    so the final result is always the same; cheers to the puffer;

    will that happen? don't think so unless the baby shrimp voluntarily get too close to the puffer; normally, this lazy bum will go for the easy target, which are the snails on the leaf and walls; try to buy the smaller baby puffer, i think it is selling at 40 to 60 ct per px, u should have peace in your tank;

    I ever see my baby puffer and my malayan/yamato with 2-3 cm from one another; both eating their own type of favourite food; only peace, no violence;

    I have kept hair grass in the refridgerator's vegetable compartment for up to 2 weeks before planting.
    I wonder if the cold temperature will kill snails? If so, can try. Since moss is certainly more hardy than hair grass.

    Got my 1st Puffer today

    Finally I got one dwarf puffer today from Qian Hu at $1, a very small one and has a very small mouth. Will it actually eat the whole snail or just suck up the meat inside and left the snail housing?

    I agree it's very entertaining to watch when puffer focus and zoom it and eat..My 3ft tank full of snails and it will probably last 2 - 3 weeks before finish it out.

    I will give away when puffer finishes the job..

    I am sure freezer will kill the snails, but the carcass will remain there and will rot unless you take it out. And snail carcass aren't exactly the nicest smelling things around.
    I think any temp above 20C, the snail will remain.

    it will crush the shell of the snail, and extract the juicy portion; very brutal manner;

    normally, it is difficult to catch the puffer after u released it, especially if u have a mature tank
