    Hi,
Just want to get a opinion whether this teakwood furniture holds the weight of 3ft tank (3ft x 1.5ft x 1.2ft) as photo? I'm concern it will give way one day?

normally, teak wood will be a good choice for cabinet or stand. But in your case, in curves on the legs might be a disadvantage. I also don't think it will fail you anytime sooner. But if possible, don't stress it

Hard to say... depends on how good the joints are.

Thats about 180kg of water... then you have to add the weight of the tank, equipment and gravel/rocks/driftwood.

About 3 to 4 adults sitting on that... do you think it'll hold?

To be honest, I'm not sure how good those joints are. I suppose they're pretty good as I brought this piece about ~ 8 year ago and looks very solid. I asked one of the LFS people before they told me a furniture needs to have a 'centre-support' to hold the tank weight properly. I don't know for sure....in this case and therefore ask for anyone opinion!

I wouldn't risk it, it will probably hold a 2ft tank in my opinion.

I would worry about the end of the legs being able to "spread" thus stressing and breaking the joints. if the ends of the legs were secured then it would be quite oK.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Thanks again for the advice. I did inspected the various parts closely and they're secured and intact.

The problem as you mentioned is the real concern, the '4 legs' how it would take the weight? and those were made from solid piece of teakwood. Is this correct, if the tank stay in its position should be okay (as the tank weight would set-down) unless someone try to move something in the furniture may off-balance the weight?? Just guessing

It'll be a good idea not to bump or lean on the table on a regular basis... like daily or several times a week. Such as during feeding or maintenance or when short kids press their faces against the glass when they are looking at it.

Everyday push one time... next thing you know, the thing is doing the boogie-woogie. Depends on the quality of the joints of course.

In another words, the teakwood is still 'alive' that because of the weight it may bend soon or later?
The shopkeeper said that teak is one of the solid wood even with water also no problem.

if the weight is too heavy to handle, then the first sign will be warping. Unless the weight is too overwhelming and it snap.

Here's a tip to check for warping. Take a long straight plastic ruler and lay it on it's side on the table. Any space between the ruler and the table means there's warping. Use coins to determine the amount of the warp.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.

Thanks for the advice. You must be refering to the flat surface of the furniture wrapping and use ruler as a guide. When I look at the surface of the table-top, it's a solid piece of taekwood and the chance of wrapping should be slim. I'm more concern on the '4 legs' that any wrapping will be a gone case..
