Java fern and java moss growth

How come my Java fern's leaves curl? Is it because they're having plantlets coming out? I noticed from member's tanks w/ java fern that their fern don't curl and I don't see any plantlets sprouting out of their leaves. Is it a different variety of Microsorum?
I also saw the growth of moss in some member's tanks and they looked good,the strands are erect. My moss' strands are all down and not erect. Is it because of how it is tied to the wood? Or because it is of a different variety?

Hi,

For the first question, it is normal for new plantets to grow from the tip of the leaves especially when the java fern is newly introduced into your tank. Over a period of time, your java fern will be very dense and beautiful as what you see from other forumers' tank. So just bear with the initial stage.

As for the second question, there are many different types of mosses available in the market. Furthermore, the condition of the tank may also affect the appearances of you mosses. So i believe that yours may be a different type.

that's very true especially if certain nutrients are lacking.

For moss, go for chiller temperature. will help a lot.
