As for the tube in the middle dropping in and blocking the flow... just cut the bottom diagonally, and make sure that pipe faces the correct way.
you mean chan will give you the plastic wrench when you purchase the reactor? i tried means and ways to open it till i gave up. maybe it's time to visit a garage and use some tools.

Well, when I bought mine, it was in a box and the plastic wrench came with it. But my second purchase from Chan, I did not receive it.

Depending on luck sometimes can open by hand sometimes the reactor seems to be jammed and refuse to budge. With the wrench most of the time can open. I kena played a few times when I had problems with my external reactor and no wrench. Dismantled everything reactor and connected piping go toilet but bloody reactor cannot open. Feel like cracking open the damn thing with a hammer.

To open the reactor cover from NA, you definitely need the special wrench & may be with the help of another guy to hold the reactor in place when you try to open it. It will be easier to open if you can find a way to extend the wrench handle longer. Simple lever effect. But don't force too hard in case you break the handle.

If you still cannot open it, you may want to use a hammer to knock on the cover at the screw open direction hope that the impact force can loosen the thread. But you need to use a piece of wood or cover with thick cloth as buffer so that you don't hit the hammer directly on the reactor cover as you can damage it. And remember, don't knock too hard as you may crack the reactor!!!

When closing up the reactor cover, just tighten it with your bare hand with min force. And further tighten it as require if you find leaking later. Do not overtighten it so that you can easily open with your bare hand next time you do the maintainence.
