Canister Filter Recommendations

Hello everyone,

I'm about to embark on a journey many of you have taken over the years, and that is to start a planted tank. At present I have a 3ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft tank that's just waiting to be filled with soil, sand and plants. Hehe! But, I'm in a bit of a jam regarding which canister filter I should get. I've got 3 filters in mind at the moment, and they are the Eheim Experience 350, the Sicce Whale 350 and the Fluvial 406. I'm tempted by some other offerings from Eheim but their price tags are a bit beyond budget at the moment. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say about these 3 choices.

I have considered the good old Eheim Classic 600, but the fact that I have to buy all the extra taps and that there are no media trays in the canister is kind of a turn off for me.

First , you could head down to Seaview and Clementi 328 to compare prices . Another option is to go for 2nd hand item but at the risk of replacing some worn parts or even missing parts that the previous owner forgot to hand over . With 2nd hand item comes 2nd hand media which may benefit or trouble you .

Whatever you choose , do take your time and do not rush through things .This is not a race and there are no finishing line , it's all on you , for you and by you .
