My betta somehow got this blackish patch on its body today. No idea how it came about. Tried googling it but dont know what is it still. Its not exactly a very black patch, it looks like a smudge from some dirt. The closest I could find related to this was discolouration but I am not very knowledgable about this disease if it is. As I am unable to post images yet this is the best description I could give you. Hopefully it is not some disease :/
Also, do you think I should scoop the fish up and maybe gently brush the body to see if its some dirt or something? While I know its not good to have physical contact with fishes because of the slime coat etc, I cant think of other ways to find out what that blackish smudge is.
