    I agree with that.

It is easy enough for anyone to 'generste' a colony of fry but raising the fry is a whole different ball game which consists of preparation, concentration, vigilance, and patience. It is a time-consuming and full-time undertaking.

I saw some young female Bettas at Bishan Aquarium.

Yeah, if your plan is to try breeding a pair of betta fish, you'll have to consider the raising of the fry, the special food the fry need and the extra tanks required to grow them out.

Note that you cannot keep a male betta fish and female betta fish in the same tank permanently, one of them will usually get bullied by the other. You don't keep a pair together just because the male looks lonely, they are not friendly with each other.

Its only for purposes of mating that pairs are kept together for a short period of time (and even then there are still cases of them attacking each other). Once breeding is done, they are always separated again.

they like to be alone... getting a female will not accompany him... he'll ask her to leave eventually... keeping the fries are not that hard.. but a lot of work though...
having said that, Clementi Av 2 Blk 328 has females for sale.. just walk around the 5 shops there..

LOL, Shifu UA is right. For these fish, there's no such thing as being lonely. Same with male Guoramis too.
