Acrylic or Polycarbonate sheet for custom stand

Hi,

I am trying to custom make an 2 tier aquarium stand. Top tier will put tank and bottom tier will put my filter and chiller.

Which material should i use as a base? And how thick should it be?

My stand will be semi outdoor so cannot use wood...

You can still use wood bases for your semi-outdoor rack too, just go for good quality kapur or chengal wood planks, those are often used for outdoor furniture or wooden decks as they are water resistant and can withstand harsh weather conditions. Check at the wood shops and get quotes for custom cut ones.
