hey guys... need some expert guidance here....

my 5 feet tank just burst the other nite... all the leaking water flooded almost all the carpets in the two floors of my house(living in maisonette)... yups... DISASTER, NIGHTMARE.....

anyways........ the tank is quite old btw... i guess almost 10yrs old as it was passed down to me from a friend then... who knows it could even be older than that.... rite now there's a big crack at the back of the tank and the silicon lining at the bottom,... lets jus say its no longer sealing the tank.....

jus wanted to ask some of the knowledgable folks here on:

    1. whether it is advisable for me to still try n salvage the tank(hope to be able to save money.. ).... something like re-sealing up the crack + lining, etc.

    2. if 'yes' to above, should i just do it myself or is it better to go to a shop n ask them to do it for me professionally..... if so does anyone know how much would it roughly cost? can recommend some shops to do this?

    3. or should i just screw it n just buy a new tank..... if so anyone here gracious enough to share lobang???

thanks in advance..... Cheers to anyone who responds!....

    1. Nah, get a new one. If you get the shop to repair it, they'll simply cut out and replace the broken panel. If the silicon at the back gave way, the rest of the silicon is probably not in very good shape anyway. After all the stress for the past 10 or more years, the other glass panels are probably not in too good shape either, so re-sealing is not a good idea either.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    I would recommend Tank_Maker, I got a 122cm (L) x 61cm (W) x 76cm (H) or in inches 48 x 24 x 30 tank last week. 15mm Asahi Glass, bareaceless

On the day of arrival, I got a phone call from Tank_Maker saying the haulage people had found a scratch on the tank and he would be visit shortly to confirm! Shock what do I do? I guess I was lucky that he was proactive.

So on brief inspection of the tank and without another word a replacement was ordered. So I have an empty tank in my living room and a new one coming in 4 days.

Other suppliers might have taken the tank away are replaced the one glass panel, I am happy that I was dealing with someone who is reputable.

PM me if you need his details
