This planted tank was directly converted from a 2 years old Sulawesi shrimp tank after all the shrimps died overnight after a freak water change at the beginning of this year. The substrates, filters and hard scaping were left unchanged. Battled algae(BGA) for nearly 2 months after the conversion. The tank has finally stabilized and I am quite pleased with it.

How did you eliminate the BGA?
Did total back out for 5 days, after that change 50% water + remove as much as BGA manually......but after 2 weeks, the BGA came back. Tried a second time total back out but failed again. Went for 3% hydrogen peroxide method....nuking the BGA by spraying directly on them.....was BGA free for 2 weeks but came back. Last method, I dose API erythromycin for 10days following the given dosing and water change instructions closely.......after this treatment, all the BGA were eliminated and did not resurface anymore.
