snail in sleep mode!

Hi anyone experience apple snail having sleep mode?

I saw my apple snail stay quietly on the substrate without moving this morning. I took it out and check if dead but I found it still alive.....

Any reason why this happen? I sure my tank got a lot of dead leave for him to eat...

Hi,
I am considering an Apple snail in my 4ft fully planted tank. I have no experience with snails, except that they are not good for planted tank.
I have the following questions:

1) Will the Apple snail eat my plants? Leaves from my plant?
2) Will it escape from my tank? I do not cover my tank.
3) Will it eat my shrimps?
4) Will the waste from the snail do any damage to the chemistry of the tank?
