Cheap Freshwater Testing Kits?

May I know anyone has any recommendations on affordable freshwater testing kits? Saw some API Brand at a LFS but they are quite costly.

Have my tank for 3 months now and I do not own any testing kits (which is probably a bad idea), and recently my shrimps are dying due to molting problems therefore I’m thinking of getting a testing kit.

Any response is appreciated .

Among the liquid test kits, API is the cheapest one that I know but with shrimp keeping you would also need the gh & kh test. Sera has separate tests available for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, kh & gh but it will cost around the same or more than the API kit. The cheapest option will be Tetra 6-in-1 Test Strips (then buy a separate test for ammonia) though they are not that accurate but will give you a fair idea with what's going on in your tank water.

I would advise against choosing cheap over accuracy , you waste the monies just to buy something that might not be accurate and then you might struggle to rectify your tank condition . Choose an accurate brand of test kit so that you do not have to worry about the reading you get . You need to remove doubt off from your result .
