Just wondering has anyone experience the above mentioned filter eheim pro 2 2026 only leaks from the gasket when it is switched off? Does it mean the gasket need to be changed or some other parts somewhere needs to be replaced? Thank you in advance.
PS...pump is still running normally in tank after cleanining in my back yard so if it leaks it won't be messy.
When you switched off the power, water back flow into the canister filter causing pressure built up inside.
This can cause water to leak out from the sides.
The gasket is probably hardened & replacing it will solve the issue.

It could be the priming thingy red colored o-ring that has worn out if you usually use it to prime the canister filter . If you changed the rubber gasket and it still leaks , this is the culprit .

Thank you BFG. Just bought the gasket but have not replaced it yet. Will do so next cleaning. If it still leaks then will change the ‘O’ ring.
