Activated carbon and peat

Hi Im using peat at the moment to lower ph. As tannis create poor visiblity I wonder if I use activated carbon to clear tannis will adding carbon take away the pH lowering affects of the peat?

Not using purigen as it too expensive.

Not sure if you still need help. Activated carbon does not change pH. Yes it will help clear your tannin.
