hows it going so far?
Hi guys! I have been away from the aquarium scene for a few years and recently just got back again after walking past my local LFS. And yes i'm being "fish-poisoned" again!
Ok so here is a pic of my simple planted 10 gallon tank. Will be adding in a few neon tetras, snails and some friendly neon tetras tankmates after cycling. Am currently using Continuum Aquatics Bacter Gen F for cycling.
Have been doing a fishless cycling for almost 2 weeks by using some fish food. Initially, during the first week there was low reading of ammonia and nitrite, followed by nitrate. This was before i add in the java ferns. On the second week, i put in my plants and measured the readings again today (day 14), ammonia, nitrite and nitrate seems to be 0. Not sure where i am going wrong, i guess the plants consume the ammonia hence there is no food source for the bacteria hence no nitrate.
Pls advise thanks!
