Here's somthing interesting. I found Hair Grass growing emersed with their roots entangled in the Riccia. And the Riccia are entangled among the Christmas Moss stapled to the styrofoam backdrop.

This was in May when I used this pic for the ADA 2008:
It looked so cozy ...
A month later, in mid-June, we had to move office and the tank was torned down. Took me about 5 hours including washing the sand.
Sometime mid-September, the tank is up again but keeping it simple this time. Here's the status after 3 weeks. See how it evolves from here ...
This location was chosen as it is nearest the toilet for water change. Got to think long term maintenance.
Trying to use driftwood this time round. Nothing much right now. Looking messy compared to previous.
Substrate: sand, cocopeat, root monsters pellets
Plants: Java Ferns, Crypts, Moss wall, Hairgrass, Ludwigia arcuata, Cyperus helferi, Anubias
Fish: Neon tetras, Otto, Yamato, Rams, Pencil fish
