Sudden Ich

Needed to move my Flowerhorn temporarily to make room. It was doing fine previously.

Ironically, I move him to quarantine tank that had nothing but snail and shrimp for the last 6 months.

3 days later it got Ich. I don’t know how a tank that had no fish can infect my Flowerhorn with Ich. Can someone help?

(PS: begun Ich treatment yesterday)

Maybe yr quarantine tank is too small?Bad water quality breeds gram negative bacteria.

I changed 50% water. But the ich came back and even worse.

The flowerhorn isnt moving much and is very obviously distressed. I don’t think he will make it. Anything else I can try as a last ditch effort?

I really regret moving him now....he was 100% healthy when I mii poi vied him into the “quarantine” tank then got ich there.

So ironic.
