noob qns: best way/technique/method to attach moss on driftwood

Hi,
im currently using glue to stick moss on my DW as its the easiest method for noobs like me. But even with glue, i find it frustrating when the moss ends up sticking on to my fingers which got some glue on it from trying to press the moss on to the glue surface.

some mosses that are in the bunch are also not glued and thus, will disintegrate from the bunch while submersed in water

i tried using black sewing threads to tie but its not aesthetic and also the threads will get loose under water.

Is it always better to attach a thick bunch of moss at first?
what are the proper foolproof method to attach your moss?

Both of the methods that you have been using are correct way to attach moss to driftwoods/rocks.
You don't need to use lots of moss / thick bunch to start. Moss can grow even with few threads or very thin layer.

For me, I try to stuff small amount of moss in the cracks of woods or rocks.
As long as it can stay there, moss will gradually spread and attach itself to the woods/rocks.
