This is my 3rd try. After over hauling my tank, my itchy fingers decided to try this plant again.
I bought it on impluse because my tank was still in the cycling stage at that time.
2 weeks later, I'm seeing side shoots. FYI, I've grown other rotala species like weeds using EI fert regime.
I attribute this success to 3 points.
1. Bought submerge form with develop roots
2. Set my chiller to 25C.
3. Set my light at 50umols at substrate.
I hope I can grow it like weeds. Wish me luck.

Don't want to jinx my somewhat luck but in 1-2 mths, based on current growth, I could see 4-6 stems I can re-propagate through cuttings.

An update. Seems my 3rd try looks promising. Imagine 1 stalk cost $20-25 a piece. Anyway the difference between this time round and the previous 2 times is that I total rescape with new substrate and maintain 25C water temp. Anyway during the 3 months a lot has happened. Once the whole batch leaves was eaten and stripped clean by my only SAE. I though because of some fert deficiency but caught the guy stripping each leaf one by one. Send it away for adoption and the plants recovered.
Previously tried on a mature tank with and without chiller, that time it melted within a week. Maybe the substrate was depleted even though I still dose fert using EI and with same light and CO2 setup.
Just for info, the short brown stalk in the centre of the pic is the original stalk. Still growing side shoots.
I might try replant 1 stalk on my non-chiller tank just to experiment. See how that goes.
