    Good day everyone!

Beginner apisto keeper here! Have been reading about sneaker males and got quite worried. Could someone lend their expertise in helping me sex my apisto please? Sorry on the orientation of the picture!

    Thank you in advance

Female agassizzi - colour very yellow & general body shape is rounder. Also, ventral black (though IMHO it's not in itself a defining trait of a female).

oh...I forgot to say.....there have been documented cases of confirmed females turning male for some apistogrammas including Agassizzi, Caca & Borelli.

Recently one Singapore hobbist friend of mine had his female Borelli, which spawned before, turn male. I myself have not experienced this phenomena

Enjoy yr apisto journey. It's not advice, it's sharing. Each one of us will have some unique experiences in keeping apistos. It's always good to share experiences.
