    Hi! I'm quite new to the planted aquarium. Recently one of my PL light spoilt & I bought a (looks like PL light) Osram Dulux L (36W). But it is orange colour when switch ON! Is this suitable?
    Hope anyone of you can help me! Thanks!

    6500k is yellowish.. 10000k is blue.. u may/may not have a tube lower than 6500k or ard there

    Mok, I realise that your lighting are mounted very close to the surface of the water. U uisng a cooler?

    I uses a combination of a 6500K and a plant tube from Dennerle. The plant tube looks very orange maybe a 4000K. The 6500K is daylight kind(looks white). I like the effect...a slightly warm look and appear natural. Plants are growing well.

    yes, lights are quite close to the water surface.
    less than 2" in fact. no chiller, no fan.
    temp can be as high as 31.8 on a hot day.
    but so far no prob with both plants and fishes.
