Hey everyone, I'm new here and am just blown away by the incredible tanks in this forum. Would love to here comments on my latest tank from the members here.

    so here it is.

I'm thinking of getting rid of the riccia since it gets out of control very quickly. If i can get my hands on some x-mas or erect moss it will replace the riccia.

Let me know what you think.

Yup! after some time ones grows out of riccia and all the "bubbles" Good idea on replacing the riccia with erect moss.

What's dimension of the tank and the parameters, I like the glosso lawn overall the tank looks nice with enough space given to the fish to swim.

What's the plant near front on the far left, ludwigia repens? that looks bit out of place.

Yeah... the tank looks good, except for the Riccia looking quite unkempt. A light green moss will be a good replacement
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:

Maybe shift the bogwood slightly away from the centre so that it doesn't dominate the aquascape quite as much.

Bus definitely either reduce or remove the riccia and replace with something like Xmas moss. I think the glosso looks great though.

Looks good! The only thing I find out of place personally is the lone plant on the extreme left. Nice tank!

thanks for the comments everyone... the pic is a little old. At the time i was fighting off some staghorn algae so i did a big trim. Here is an update with a recent pic of the tank.

Most of those fish are rescues so they are not permenant.

time for trimming on your riccia before it floats up.

The front now looks a bit weird with the emptiness, why not a lot more riccia?

THe riccia is to much work as it is, don't really want to add anymore of it anywhere.

For the foreground, i took out most of the glosso because it was at a 'point of no retern' with the amount of staghorn that was growing on the leaves. I'm thinking of completely replaceing it with H.C. or dwarf hairgrass.

How tall do the individual blades of hairgrass grow? I'm not to sure if i want to go this route if its going to grow taller then 1"-1.5" (2-3 cm).

Replacing with HC will be nice I had some dwarf hair grass that grows to a height about 3cm, alternatively you can consider APP.

I see that lone plant is still there, bit of a eye sore

like the one before the trim more, looked less amateurish than the trimmed one.
    The previous look more harmonious.

somehow, I think scape is not there, lacking focus, the plants are just all over. I like the red indica in the previous scape, that sort of gives the tank a focal point.
Try grouping the plants together, like the indica...hope this helps

I think it may be good to have plants of a species to be grouped together. Personally, I think having distinct groups of plants creates a "orderly" look that is more pleasing to the eye.

That's very true. Beauty is after all created by man not Nature

Perhaps the scape is still young. The stemmed plants need some good trimming ( learn from gregorsama! ) to get a bushy effect.

I think it will look great when the foreground fills up.

Finally got around to messing with my camera setting so get rid of the overexposure problem effecting previous pics.

Thanks everyone for all their suggestions. I have them all in mind for the next time i have time to get in there and mess around with the scape.

    sweet...

you have a very nice looking tank there...
i especially like the clump of moss on the left side of the tank...
maybe can add some red plants... opp side of the moss
    looks very green..
    just my lousy 2 cents...
on the whole a very nice tank to be envious of....
