Isn't it just a tank corner protector during the transportation. If it can be taken out easily, then it should be okay.
By the way, how big is this tank?
I just bought one of these aquariums from NA and need to know something before I decide whether I should do it...
The aquarium has these plastic brackets on the back corners.
Would it be safe for me to pop them off, stick on my backing and silicon them back on? It's not going to compromise the structure of the tank... Will it?

They're siliconed on, so I'm not too sure if they're just put on for protection during transport...
The tank's about 35 x 20 x 23cm. Starting up a small low maintainence planted...![]()
If that is case, the corner stuff is part of the tank design and it should leave it as it is! It's a small tank and water pressure will not be great, anyway!Originally Posted by brianclaw

Ok... Thanks.
I also have the same type of tank as you with the corner brackets. Mine was only lightly siliconed, so it can be removed if you lightly pulled on it. I removed it to put on my tank backing and put it back on. No problems so far (though I only had the tank close to 3 months).
Cheers,
Joe
That's cool... Thanks. It seems a bit weird that they would make a tank like this... Didn't they think of what would happen when people want to attach a background?
